Who are we?

A social enterprise focused on making helping easier to act on.

People Plan It exists to connect volunteers and charities in a way that feels practical, grounded and genuinely useful for local communities.

  • Built for volunteers and charities alike
  • Focused on real opportunities
  • Committed to visible local impact

Our mission

To make the world a better place by connecting volunteers with organisations that make a difference.

That mission matters because people often want to help, but do not know where to begin or how to find opportunities they can realistically sustain.

What People Plan It does in practice

We connect volunteers with meaningful organisations, with a strong emphasis on student engagement, real volunteering opportunities and routes that help people better themselves through service without inflated costs or empty branding.

That can include introductions to charities, flexible local roles and courses or learning pathways that make volunteers more confident and useful in the communities they support.

Values

The principles behind the work

A strong volunteer network is built on trust, realism and a clear sense of who benefits.

Support where its needed most

We prioritise the requirements of our Partner Organisations and volunteers, not what ticks the boxes.

Helping should be straightforward

A clear outline of expectations from our volunteers with no hidden agendas or indirect instructions.

Impact should be visible

We want to show what we can achieve when we work together

How we measure progress

Impact should be easy to understand

People Plan It aims to report progress in ways that matter to volunteers, partner organisations and future supporters.

Volunteer confidence

Listening to our volunteers and tracking how they engage with us and our Partners.

Partner engagement

Frequent communication with our Partners to check how we are doing and how we can be even better.

Skills growth

Assessing the effect of our signposted courses, making sure we direct our volunteers towards something that actually improves the skills they want to build.

Next step

If the mission fits, the next move is simple.
